Vogue resignation

Carine Roitfeld is stepping down as editor in chief of French Vogue.

Enough said, right?

After 10 years of working with the magazine, she will leave her post at the end of January to work on personal projects. Not only is Carine one of the most fashionable women in the world, she has never been afraid to take a risk or to get a little sexy – she’s Tom Ford’s muse, after all – which can only be said about a handful of editors working today.

You can’t deny that Carine’s influential Vogue Paris is the book that sets the standard. Her open-minded, unapologetic attitude about styling, and her pushing boundaries in photography is what sets her apart from the rest.

Her replacement will be announced in the upcoming weeks.  Devastating news that definitely rocked the fashion world, but good luck, Carine!

Words to live by

I’ve always been a firm believer that I have the most power over my life.  I haven’t always necessarily believed in fate, but do recognize that people shape and help me, and I take full accountability for where my life goes, and where it doesn’t.  Lately, I’ve been thinking about how I want to be more motivated, and better at delivering on the things I need to deliver on.  I was thinking about what tools I have at my fingertips that could help me get where I want in life.  Soon.

However, the one thing that has always stopped me?  Courage.

I will soon be entering my 30’s and I think (no, I know) that I’m going through some sort of life crisis because I fear leaving my safety net that I’ve been clinging on to all throughout my 20’s. However, as the big 3-0 is quickly approaching, I may finally be ready to take some leaps of faith and take rein over my destiny. I’m ready for some courage and definitely ready for a positive change.

Do not waste your life, because life is there – all you have to do is reach out and embrace it. Anything is possible. Whatever your dream is, make it happen. Have courage. Start today. You will be amazed what life will give you in return for a little bit of courage.  Courage is a choice. Be certain of one thing: The measure of your life will be the measure of your courage.” – Matthew Kelly

Something to think about…..

Bazaar Bizare SF

Mark your calendars!

San Francisco’s favorite craft fair is back and bigger than ever, coming to Fort Mason this weekend from December 11-12.

Bazaar Bizarre San Francisco is one of my favorite craft shows of the year, filled with loads of DIY goodness and will feature over 100 carefully juried artists and designers from across the country.  Shoppers can expect to find the crème de la crème of indie goods: handbags, pottery, letterpress stationary, silk-screened t-shirts, baby clothes, zines, posters, body products and more!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Great things can happen when you least expect it and I am thankful for everything happening in my life. I am thankful for my family, friends, health, and a newfound courage of conviction.

Happy Thanksgiving!  I’m ready to feast……

NY state of mind

…..and yes I’m back!!!

It’s been quite a busy whirlwind of October and November events.  I can’t believe how long I’ve abandoned my blog – my deepest apologies.

I just got back from a wonderful 5 days spent in the Big Apple with 3 of the most important females and loves in my life. Shopping, eating, and partying galore would adequately sum up my time in NYC. There’s always something about NYC that I just absolutely love that I can never get here in SF and I have a feeling that I’ll be back out there again quite soon.

Now that I’ve finally caught up on some sleep and had a bit of a detox from all the partying, I am totally ready to blog my brains out again, so please stay tuned…….

Goooo Giants!

Congratulations Giants for a great series against Atlanta and moving on forward to the NLCS against Philly. The city was going absolutely bonkers tonight and I couldn’t have been more excited and proud to have been emersed in all its glory.

I’m ecstatic for this next round. I love my city!!!

Til next time…

After revisiting all these pictures for my blog, I really am missing HK and Shanghai. I had a blast with my family and would not trade this experience for anything in the world. A special THANK YOU to Jon, Yeda, and Sharon for being such wonderful hosts in HK. I’ll definitely be back again soon! :)

Photo journal part 2.4 – HK {Forces of Nice x Adidas VIP Party}

Event: Forces of Nice, an art collaboration with Adidas Originals – held at the original Adidas Originals Concept Flagship store in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

My cousin’s cousin who does PR for special events in HK kindly got us into the Forces of Nice x Adidas VIP Party and it was certainly an event that I’m glad I was able to attend. The event was an exclusively unique and interactive art exhibition, featuring one of Canada’s top creatives, Chairman Ting with a digital graffiti wall installation. A M A Z I N G ! ! !

Red carpet arrival.
Unlimited flow of drinks.
Cutesy appetizers (I had none – was too busy at the bar).
Gorgeous people smushed into one small space.
Celeb stalking (Nicki Chow, Ella Poon, Kelvin Kwan)

This definitely called for one FUN night!

Photo journal part 2.3 – HK {places}

{Victoria’s Peak, HK Convention & Exhibition Center, Avenue of the Stars, Kowloon Harbour}

Photo journal part 2.2 – HK {delicious eats}

There’s no such trip to HK without the mentioning of the amazing food! I have certainly been eating away to my heart’s desire and here are some pics to prove it.

Clearly, my tummy doesn’t know how to say NO.
